Last week marked the start of a new chapter in my professional journey, as I stepped away from IBM after nearly 13 years of combined service with Red Hat and IBM.
Leave was not an easy decision—it came after much reflection. Still, ultimately, there were irreconcilable differences between the company’s direction, culture, and values and my open-source principles.
In 2022, I had the privilege of leading the transition of Red Hat Process Automation Manager (RHPAM) to IBM, creating BAMOE—IBM’s first open-source product following the Red Hat model. Over 12 releases and 10+ quarters, I worked with an incredible team to support remarkable off-charts growth. I’m proud of everything we accomplished together.
I want to express my gratitude to my ex-colleagues and teammates for your support and trust. Working alongside you has been a rewarding experience. To the open-source community, I’m excited to continue contributing, fostering collaboration, and driving innovation.
I’ll take the rest of the year off to enjoy family, recharge, reflect, and plan my next steps. I’ll continue contributing to the Apache KIE (incubating) community; it’s an exciting opportunity to focus not only on code but also on areas like documentation and website.
While I don’t yet know what the future holds, I’m excited about the possibilities ahead.
ps: If you’d like to connect or collaborate, don’t hesitate to reach out . I’d love to hear from you.
